Loved making them

These are some projects I made for a brooch contest...a cute one with a lot of nice things made by some very talented girls. Here is the link if you want to take a peak at those wonderful things: http://cdb.designerdebijuterii.com/viewtopic.php?t=1259&start=330
Here are the other 3 I made for the contest.
I tried a little variation here putting some lips on this little girl. When I have the chance I will change the pictures because these are not nice at all due to the fact that there were no lighting conditions.

Inspiration

Since is very hard to do something truly unique nowadays I have to show you what my inspirations were.

First Pucca inspired me :

Then cute anime girls sleeping....

Anime hairstyles maybe.

The frames of some of my pendants are inspired from cameos, but I wanted to do cute cameos. I like silly little things and I truly believe that my projects let me be something I cannot always be. Of course some of them were made during a certain time in my life so they might have sad or happy story behind.

Anyway, I just wanted to make this post to give credit to all who have inspired me.

Old projects

I stumbled upon some of my previous projects. These are 1-2 years old perhaps. I really wanted to make something special to wear daily so I came up with these.

Song

My new obsession.

Polymer clay brands

There are many brands out there, but some are better than others. I usually use FIMO which comes in many shapes and types.

Fimo Soft is of course softer but I always have a hard time with it especially because I leave a lot of fingerprints on it. On the other hand, I usually use it for projects that need to be more elastic while I make them. For example, if I am doing a girl's hair, I would generally use Fimo Soft because I can stretch it as much as I want without breaking it. I'm having a hard time with white Fimo Soft or other light colors because they still get dirty no matter how much I wash my hands before handling them. Some people use alcohol to get things off their hands but I never tried that so I can't really talk about it.
FIMO Classic- is perfect for things you want to stay intact while you model on them. For example, when I sculpt a doll(I didn't put pictures of them yet) I prefer this type of clay because it doesn't break or loses its shape while working on another part of it.

Sculpey- I didn't use much Sculpey especially because the online store where I buy my supplies has very few colors of Sculpey. The ones I used, Sculpey Premo and Studio were not as good as I expected. Since many people out there say that Sculpey is better than FIMO maybe I bought some old clay that didn't work. Sculpey Studio was ok, soft, maybe not as soft as FIMO Soft but definitely softer than the classic version. However, the PREMO package was terrible. I liked the color (it was "frost" color or something) and I ordered that along with other colors. I have to say I had to put a lot of effort to do something out of it and it only worked mixed with translucent white. It broke and I couldn't do anything with it. Next time I'll buy some more and maybe from a different place because I don't think that Sculpey is that bad.

Cernit- as I can see on forums and websites this brand is not very famous. It's not bad, it usually comes in bigger packages than fimo and it costs the same. However, is not as good as FIMO and it can become pretty hard in time. But if you are doing a project that requires harder clay, this can be perfect. The great thing about it is the fact that it has a lot of interesting colors that FIMO doesn't have.

I know there are many brands out there but these are the only one I've tried so far.

The girl who...Christmas decoration

This is for a contest. It took me about 7 hours, but I'm satisfied with the result. Made of polymer clay.
